Check your pantries and refrigerators, there is a huge pepperoni recall in all 50 states right now. The recalled pepperoni was contaminated with bacteria called Bacillus cereus which can cause sickness, especially in those with bad immune systems. While there are no known reports of anyone getting sick from these yet, the company is concerned that consumers may have this product in their house for the upcoming holidays.
The brand of pepperoni recalled is from the company Margherita and features an Italian flag on the front of the uncut pepperoni. 8-oz. plastic shrink-wrapped packages containing unsliced pepperoni “Margherita PEPPERONI” with lot code P1931C and a “use by date” of 12-14-21 represented on the label are recalled over this contamination.
