NEW SETTLEMENT! Get $250 From Western Union! No Receipt Needed!
Western Union has agreed to pay a total of $8.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit that claims the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The lawsuit states that the company sent text spam in 2014 without receiving express written consent to receive said text messages, something that is legally required as part of the TCPA.
The Western Union TCPA class action lawsuit settlement includes all Class Members in the United States who received one or more unsolicited text messages sent by or on behalf of Western Union between March 12, 2010 and Nov. 10, 2015.
Western Union has agreed to give each Class Member a portion of the $8.5 million Settlement Fund. The TCPA class action settlement estimates this to average about $250 for each valid claim; however, depending on the number of claimants, the cash payout could be more or less.
