YouTube $170 MILLION Settlement!
NEVER MISS A DEAL
A HUGE settlement is pending by the FTC for allegations the streaming video channel collected kids personal information without parents’ knowledge and consent. The investigation has been ongoing to research how YouTube handles data by users under the age of 13. Federal law states parents must be aware information is being collected and consent to the information being collected.
The FTC chairman Joe Simons declared in a statement “the company refused to acknowledge that portions of its platform were clearly directed to kids. There’s no excuse for YouTube’s violations of the law.” The FTC has passed down a $136 million dollar fine, as well of the State of New York imposing their own $34 million dollar settlement.
