Stock-up alert: A shopper-shared Family Dollar deal reports select 18-count Frito-Lay snack multipacks at 3 for $16. If your store has that offer and your account has an eligible $5-off-$25 Smart Coupon, six boxes could cost $27 before tax—108 snack bags at 25¢ each.
Reported deal / YMMV: We have not independently confirmed the 3-for-$16 promotion at every store. The submitted photo shows multipacks and part of a Family Dollar receipt from Williamsport, Pennsylvania; it does not show a readable transaction date or full final total. Check your local ad, qualifying varieties and coupon terms before making a trip. This is a reported sale-and-coupon combination; there is no evidence it is a price error.
Family Dollar chip deal breakdown
| Step | Reported amount |
|---|---|
| Buy 3 qualifying 18-count boxes | $16 |
| Buy 6 qualifying boxes total | $32 |
| Apply an eligible $5-off-$25 coupon | −$5 |
| Estimated total before tax | $27 |
| Cost per box / individual bag | $4.50 / $0.25 |
This calculation assumes all six boxes qualify, each contains 18 bags, and the sale discount and coupon both apply. Without the coupon, six boxes at the reported sale price would be $32 before tax, or about 30¢ per snack bag.
How to check and shop the offer
- Check your local Family Dollar weekly ad for select Frito-Lay 18-count multipacks at 3 for $16. Sale dates and participation may vary.
- Open the official Family Dollar Smart Coupons page or app and clip an eligible $5-off-$25 coupon. Read the valid date, exclusions and any limits. If your coupon is Saturday-only, you must shop on the Saturday printed on it while the chip sale is also active; do not assume it will work today.
- Choose six qualifying boxes. The submitted photo appears to include Family Fun Mix, Flavor Mix and Bold Mix; confirm each exact variety and UPC qualifies at your store.
- Use the redemption method shown in your app or coupon and check the register total. Look for the 3-for-$16 discounts and the $5 coupon before paying.
- If the discounts fail, ask the cashier to confirm eligibility before completing your purchase. Do not assume the register can override expired or ineligible offers.

Why this could be a useful stock-up deal
Individual snack bags are handy for lunchboxes, road trips and parties. Check the best-by dates and choose mixes your household will actually use. Buying six boxes only saves money if you need the quantity.
Quick answers
Is the $27 price guaranteed?
No. It is the calculated before-tax total if the reported sale and eligible coupon both apply. Store prices, stock, coupon availability and qualifying varieties vary.
Can I buy three boxes and use $5 off $25?
Three boxes at $16 do not reach a $25 qualifying-purchase threshold by themselves. Six boxes at $32 do, subject to the coupon’s full terms.
Does the receipt prove a nationwide sale?
No. The partial receipt supports a shopper report at one store. Confirm your own store’s promotion and coupon before shopping.
Deal note: Posted October 9, 2026. Promotion end date has not been confirmed. The linked official ad and app are the places to check current local terms. Family Dollar’s coupon policy and your coupon’s exact terms explain the restrictions that apply.
