Splash Mountain is one of the most classic Walt Disney Rides. Splash Mountain is based on the Disney movie “Song of the South”, which was released in 1946. Splash Moutain is a log flume ride located in Disneyland, Disney World, and Disneyland Tokyo.
Disney has announced that it will soon retheme the current ride to a “Princess and the Frog” movie theme. Only the United States rides will undergo a change. If you still want to ride Splash Mountain, you will have to travel to Disneyland Tokyo. Splash Mountain is still operating currently during Summer 2022.
Disney has not announced a closing date for the ride yet. In addition to the retheming of the current ride, Splash Mountain merchandise is flying off shelves. Many Guests experienced a 5-6 hour virtual wait time to get into the Splash Mountain gift shop. Merchandise from the ride is currently showing up on eBay, as many people are buying in bulk.
