Walmart’s fresh guarantee refund policy

Walmart guarantees you the Freshes products when it comes to perishable items. If after you purchase your groceries and some are not to your standard or have started to go bad, or rotten before the Best Buy date, then Walmart’s policy allows you to bring them back for a refund. You do need your receipt for this refund to show when it was purchased. If you do your shopping online and start a refund on the app then it is possible that some of your perishable items, may not be asked to be returned.

Returns without proof of purchase

Now if you’re like me I toss and throw out my receipts without thinking about it. If you need to make a return and can’t find your receipt you do have a few options. If you are returning an item and it is under $10 then you can head to customer service with the item and your government-issued ID. Your returns will be tracked against your ID and as long as everything matches up, they will issue the return. You will get the current sell price of that item.

Now if you don’t have your receipt and the item is over $10 there is still hope. If you used a card to make your purchase, they can use that card to search and look up your purchase so that they can issue you your refund.

They will use that number to issue your refund and put it directly back on the card you used to pay.

Now if you are using the Walmart App they have made it easy for you to make returns as well. This is called Walmart’s Mobile Express Return. Go to your purchase history and select the item to start the return. Then they will give you a QR code. This is for customer service to scan then give them the item back and you are all set.

You can also send your item back in the mail for free. You use your app again in the purchase history spot. Then they will give you the label needed to return the item completely free! The item does have to be sold by Walmart and not a third-party seller. This does take a few weeks to complete your return but you get to do it all from your home.

Holiday return policy

Now with the holiday most of Walmart’s return policy will remain the same giving you 90 days. Now it you’re purchasing any electronics for the holidays and worried about the return policy they do give you a little more wiggle room. They will still only have 14 or 30 days to make the return. But if you purchase the items after November 1st. The 14 or 30 days will not start till December 26th. That way if anyone needs to make any exchanges or returns of a gift it’s still possible.

Coupons and discounts on your returns

Now if you’re like us we love to shop and use coupons and any kind of discount we can get. Now if you purchased an item with a coupon and you’re taking it back for a refund you will not get back the money that was saved with a coupon. So if you purchased an item that cost $10 and you had a $2 off coupon. When you make a return you will only get the $8.00 back. So that’s something to consider when deciding if you should make a return or just exchange the item.
